wedding thank you'sAfter months of planning, the big day has come and gone. You have adventured off to your honeymoon and now it is time to let marriage sink it. There are a few things that you need to do in a timely manner after the wedding day.

To save the top tier of your wedding cake, ask the catering staff to box the top tier of the cake for you. When you bring it home let the cake sit in the fridge for a few hours until the icing hardens, this allows the plastic wrap not to stick. Wrap it in layers of plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn. Then, seal it in a marked airtight bag so that you will remember it for your first year anniversary.

There are a few different ways to preserve your bridal bouquet, petal pressing and dome box bouquet preservation. Press a few petals from your bouquet and frame them along with your invitation and a photograph from the wedding day. Another favorite idea is to preserve the flowers in a dome box where the entire bouquet can be preserved. Both options are a great DIY project or find a professional to preserve your bouquet.

Wedding gown preservation is a great keepsake from your wedding. Be sure to get your wedding gown professionally cleaned before getting it preserved. Preserving your gown is the perfect way to save your gown for your daughter or just as a keepsake. Keep the box away from moisture, direct sunlight and heat.

Thank you notes should be mailed out within a month from when you return home from the honeymoon. Take a few minutes everyday to write a few thank you notes. Even though it will take some time to write them, it is respectful that you do them.

Changing your last name after your wedding day is very important. You will need your official marriage license to change your name on your social security card, license, and bank accounts. There are proper forms and instructions for each department on how to change your last name.

After all the excitement from the wedding day, you may want to start thinking about planning a first year anniversary getaway to get you excited for something new!
